We go together.

While we were out at dinner yesterday, my friend Laura told me that one-hundred percent of people who smoke will die. This story helps me to reflect on our wonderful friendship. Laura is so funny and a little bit crazy, just like me. I love her.

If you are a soul, living in a body.

There is so much uncertainty in life. Everywhere you turn, there are people asking questions. We are wandering in endless pursuit of there, only to find ourselves here. We are loving great and we are loving with fear and we are pleading with ourselves whether or not the risks we take in life make it worth enduring.
We know that everything is going to be alright, and so we are saying to you, God, "How are you going to make everything alright?"
Bright Eyes says, "The Bible's blind, the Torah's deaf, the Qu'ran's mute. If you burn them all together, you get close to the truth."
I remind myself that I go to church to be in a loving community. The truth is that no one can live apart from communal experiences. Beyond that, I know that we discover truth when we acknowledge that we don't know the truth. We have uncertainty because we have yet to discover the truth. If we had possession of truth and we knew, without a doubt, that it was the truth, then we would stop wondering. We would simply live and claim for ourselves and each other the sacrifice of Christ everyday.
Instead, we remain limp limbs and broken bones. We are frail hands, reaching up in desperation. We want God to save us from the lives we have created for ourselves and he is crying out for us, saying: "Find me here and find me there and find me everywhere."
